August Roundtable

WE ARE BACK!

We are back from a short summer respite. We are getting ready to kick off a new Scouting year with Roundtable information to help you with your strong comeback. We are kicking off with a discussion on recruiting,

Recruiting new Scouting members is important to the health and longevity of the Scouting movement. This is such an important topic; we are asking you to be sure to have a representative come to this meeting. Someone from your Ket Three would be great. It is important that your unit develops a plan to grow your unit.

We’ll also have some information regarding the upcoming Kidfest and some special international guests.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Training

All scouts deserve a trained leader.

All leaders should review their position-specific training (including Merit Badge Counselors) at their My.Scouting training profile. About 50% of the registered leaders in the Massabesic District have completed the position-specific training for their role.

The Massabesic District is pleased to announce Doug Batty will be the new training chair. Doug previously served in several roles in the Monadnock district, including the Monadnock training chair. Doug may be reached at BattyScouter@gmail.com.

Massabesic Eagle Board News

Our monthly Eagle Boards resume August 7^th. We meet the first Wednesday of every month, except July, for Life Scouts seeking either Eagle Service Project approvals or their Final Board of Reviews.

Scouts must request a board of review. Make sure you have all your required signatures before applying.

For Eagle Service Project approval boards (https://nhscouting.org/advancement/eagle-board/):

- Select “Request An Eagle Board Of Review,” complete and submit.

- You will then be contacted by Pastor Shupe for the date and time of your board of review.
