“I’m deeply honored to be named the next Executive Director of Kennett Collaborative. I look forward to continuing the important work Kennett Collaborative does to make our community the welcoming and thriving place it is,” Embree says. “As a Kennett area resident, I'm excited to work with our staff, Board, partners, merchants, and the entire community to elevate the programs, events, businesses, and one-of-a-kind experiences that give Kennett its unique character and make it such a great place to live, work, and visit.”
Daniel will share more of his story and vision with Around the Square readers in the new year, after he assumes his new post on January 3rd, but in the meantime you can read a bit about Daniel and Kennett Collaborative's Executive Director search process here.
Daniel will also be around the Holiday Village Market this weekend—so if you see him, please say hello!
Enjoy the magic of one of Kennett Square's most beloved holiday traditions with Santa, ice sculpture demonstrations, live music, handcrafted cocktails, and over 100 vendors over the four days of the market. Each day is a new experience with a different combination of vendors, musicians, food trucks, and more!
You can find a complete schedule of vendors and events here. And there's a free shuttle that will take you between State and Birch Street!
Some of the most appreciated holiday and hostess gifts are what KSQ Farmers Market manager Ros Fenton calls "consumable but memorable." Find locally grown and crafted gifts like honey, candles, soaps, spices, hard cider, and more at the market over the coming weeks.

Thank you for joining and continuing these fascinating community conversations about the past, present, and future of our built environment and its impact on our community.
Thanks to Santa and Mrs. Claus, dozens of volunteers, hundreds of participants, and thousands of spectators, this year's Holiday Light Parade was one of the biggest and brightest ever! Here are a few glimpses of this great community event from photographer Mikey Reeves . . .
The Kennett Flash presents a free conversation for students (ages 12 and up) on passion, artistry, music, and self-expression with acclaimed blues musician Buffalo Nichols. Space is limited and admission is free with confirmed RSVP. Email to RSVP here.
UWSCC, in partnership with Kennett Collaborative, Kennettica Radio, and Fab and Boujee Boutique, are opening our doors to celebrate a little holiday cheer! Come to 106 W. State Street and meet the staff of each organization, enjoy some light refreshments, and perhaps even win one of our raffles!
We hope you're enjoying the beautiful Christmas in Kennett holiday decor around town. If you'd like to contribute—and have a personalized handcrafted ornament hung in your honor or in memory of a loved one on our community tree this week— you can find out more here.
Thank you for reading—and for supporting our local businesses throughout the holiday season.
We wish you a happy and healthy week "Around the Square"!
