Hope Village Mentors packed the house on April 7th for an informative presentation on subsidized housing. Big thank you to Jessica Oleson Bue, Director of the Chippewa County Housing Authority (and a Hope Village board member) for a great presentation!

Our Scrap Metal Drive container is out again at Jacobson's Ace Hardware - Lake Wissota - Location. We want to thank Jacobson's for allowing us space - Start filling it up!

Hope Village launches $2.7-million fundraising campaign

Capital Campaign – We could use your help! We are in the Validation Phase of the campaign and are looking for volunteers to read through the materials that have been created by our committees in during the last 4 months. Could you take a few hours and read the material? It would help us to make sure we didn’t miss any important information – we’d love to have your input. Click here for the Capital Campaign Material.

Hey! Hope Village is looking for donated items that we can sell via online auctions - to raise funds to help us continue to provide services to our unhoused neighbors. If you have an item, a box of items, a trunk full of items or a truck load let us know. We will make arrangements to collect them from you.

Hope Village Chippewa Falls

My name is Dale Kortesmaki, and I'm 54 years old. I was born in Racine. I got married when I was 20. I have five children and ten grandchildren. I ran a very successful trim carpentry construction company for 16 years before my wife at the time and I divorced. I went through a very difficult time because of that and was very lost and broken. I just needed someone to believe in me and give me a chance.

I believe the Lord brought me to Hope Village. It was November 2017 that I... made the decision to get my life back on track. I heard about Hope Village from Karri and Jennifer at the Career Development Center in Chippewa Falls. I have been trying to make better choices in my life and didn't want to repeat past mistakes. I met Mike Cohoon, and he took the time to hear my short story and direct me to the right resources that I needed to get my life back together.

Living in the Hope Village Tiny house program has been great. It has given me a sense of security and stability and has taught me self worth and accountability. With the help of Hope Village volunteers, my mentors, Brad and Kimberly, I was able to define my goals for Hope Village’s Get Right Program in the health categories: mental, physical, spiritual and financial. I am very thankful for all of their support and guidance. Other volunteers, including Jennifer and Karri, go above and beyond anything anyone has ever done in my life. They are so caring and loving. All aspects of my life have changed for the better with the help from the Hope Village volunteers.

I used to think homelessness, poverty and food insecurity happened to people who just made bad decisions or didn't want to put in the work, but it’s not true at all. These issues can happen to anyone and at any time. They are people who just need help for one reason or another. It shouldn't matter why or how they ended up in their situation. What matters is what one can do to help them.

Hope Village has provided me with the tools, support, information, guidance and love that I needed to be successful in achieving my goals. I've been able to get a good paying job that I like and can also pay my bills and help me save. There are so many things that have improved in my life with the help of Hope Village. I'm learning to live life fully and work through daily challenges as they arise.

I will be forever grateful for Hope Village. I needed someone to believe in me when I didn't even believe in myself, and Hope Village was that beacon of light and hope to help carry me through. Thank you!

Progress is being made on the Hope Village Community Center, Brown Builders is finishing up the sheet rock and painting this week. Kitchen Cabinets should go in next week. We are hoping the building remodel will be done by the end of June – there is talk of an open house sometime after completion!

Chippewa Falls father builds tiny home in memory of late daughter

We will be at OneFest from July 29-21 – come visit our booth and tour a tiny house while listening to some great music. If you are interested in volunteering to give tours and hand out brochures contact us!

We are partnering with Sunnydaze Decor for a fundraising opportunity on June 1st from 3-6pm and June 2nd from 10-1pm. Sunnydaze sells garden décor including fountains, firepits, hammocks and dozens of other items. All of the items sold at the fundraiser will be deeply discounted and a portion of the sales will go to Hope Village. You get a great deal and HV gets funded, WIN/WIN.

We are thankful for the following organizations, churches and families for contributing to Hope Village over the past month. The Chippewa Falls Lions Club, Jacob’s Well, Crossroads Church, Trinity United Methodist Church, Newman Parish, the Women of Purpose, Diane Friyza, Joy and Tom LaMartina, Darell and Renee Liming.
