"And now, Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you, but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all His ways and to love Him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, [and] to keep the commandments of the LORD and His statutes which I command you today for your good?" Deuteronomy 10:12-13 NKJV

The old gospel song, All I Need Is In Jesus” states, “He’s a doctor in the sickroom, if you need him. He’s a lawyer in the courtroom church if you need Him. He’s a battle axe in the time of trouble. He everything, He’s all I need.” Part 4 of our series, A Year Of Healing” focuses on the well known bible recount of Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead.
John 11:1-44 tells us…Now a certain man was ill, Lazarus of Bethany, the village of Mary and her sister Martha . . . So the sisters sent to him, saying, “Lord, he whom you love is ill.”
. . .Then Jesus told them plainly, “Lazarus is dead, and for your sake I am glad that I was not there, so that you may believe. But let us go to him.” . . . Now when Jesus came, he found that Lazarus had already been in the tomb four days…
Martha said to Jesus, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask.” Jesus said to her, “Your brother will rise again . . . I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”
She said to him, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Messiah, the Son of God, who is to come into the world.” . . . Now when Mary came to where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet, saying to him, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in his spirit and greatly troubled. And he said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to him, “Lord, come and see.” Jesus wept.
. . .Then Jesus, deeply moved again, came to the tomb . . . And Jesus lifted up his eyes and said, “Father, I thank you that you have heard me. I knew that you always hear me, but I said this for the benefit of the people standing here, that they may believe that you sent me.” When he had said these things, he cried out with a loud voice,
“Lazarus, come out.” The man who had died came out, his hands and feet bound with linen strips, and his face wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Take off the grave clothes, and let him go.”
To God Be The Glory for the loving, healing power of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. In the story of Lazarus, we see Jesus’ deep love for his friends. More important than the incredible miracle of Lazarus being raised from the dead is the fact that Jesus cried over his death. Jesus hurts when we hurt. It is comforting to know that he sees us, hears us, cares and loves us so very much.

Lesson Nugget: Hosea, a prophet to Israel was directed by God to enter into a marital relationship which demonstrated Israel's idolatrous and unfaithful behavior. God is continuously faithful while we like Israel are frequently unfaithful.
God calls for us today as Christians to seek to be faithful to our commitment to living Godly Christian lives.

Name: Shelby Boyd
Grade/School: 9th/Henry Clay High School
Career Goals: Plastic/Cosmetic Surgeon
Why Career Goals: You can give people the look they want to have. I just want to see people smile about the way they look -- give them confidence. I like helping others build their confidence. Not a lot people have that (confidence) these days!!
What do you want your church family to know about you? I am outgoing. I am funny. I am kind. I have a big heart. Also, most people don’t know I play tennis. I thought they did but they don’t. I’ve played about 11 years. I play a mixture of singles and doubles for my school. When playing personally, I stick with singles. People say my backhard is my best shot! I also played the piano for 5 years. Oh, and I laugh easily. A lot of people say that (about me).
What do you want your church family to know about GOD: God is always there for you even when you feel like He is not. He is right there. He doesn’t always come when you want Him but He comes right on time. Don’t ever give up on Him. Don’t ever give up on GOD!
Parents: Sis. Kimberly Scott and Bro. William Boyd
Grandparents: Sis. Faith Steele and Sis. Betty Boyd
In the coming weeks, our Youth Ministry members will be Spotlighted in this section.

FLU
Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death.
Flu shots are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding a flu vaccination.
RSV
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common, contagious virus that usually causes mild symptoms. In older adults and adults with certain underlying conditions, RSV can cause severe infections.
RSV shots are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding a RSV vaccination.
COVID-19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. Anyone can get sick with COVID-19 and become seriously ill or die at any age.
The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the disease and how the virus spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by staying at least 1 metre apart from others, wearing a properly fitted mask, and washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently. Get vaccinated when it’s your turn and follow local guidance.
The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols. It is important to practice respiratory etiquette, for example by coughing into a flexed elbow, and to stay home and self-isolate until you recover if you feel unwell.
Both COVID vaccines and Booster COVID vaccines are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding COVID vaccinations.
