By the way, speaking of Russian idiots (of whom I am one, for sure), they are often the last wise man standing at the end of a story. And, Russian fool that I am, I realized recently that I have yet to tell a Russian idiot story on my storytelling podcast.
Time to remedy that. I'm doing a live storytelling in my Patreon community today at 4 pm Eastern. I'm telling the old Russian classic "Sivka-Burka," which features a magic horse that does some amazing things to ugly, unwashed young men. If you'd like to see the live version of the "In a Certain Kingdom" podcast, this is it. Come by and join us!
I've also restarted an old favorite in my Patreon community, the Good Books for Great Lives Book Club. And we're reading...
The Song of the Sirin!
I have a bunch of free audiobook download codes for anyone who joins in during this first week of the book club starting. And there's a few other fun things we'll be doing together.
I go into that in some detail here in a public Patreon post that includes a YouTube video of the announcement.
A Super Cool Resource for Writers
Recently I did an author webinar about Three Techniques for Telling Better Stories. We had a very active group of storytellers from California to Norway to India! It was a great time.
If you'd like to see the replay, here it is.
I also wanted to let the writers among you know about a cool opportunity to get the Art of Storytelling Writers' Course that I pitch at the end of the webinar.
This is a doozy, so don't miss it if you're a writer:
1. I've made my one on one coaching slots on Patreon free for seven days for all new patrons
2. If you join that coaching tier, I'll send you a special discount code for the Art of Storytelling course that will knock two hundred off the usual amount.
3. You can then get a guided one on one teaching of the course, which is a variant of what I offer in the St Basil Writers' Workshop.
So... what are you waiting for? :)
In the absence of St Basil's having a workshop this year, this is your best opportunity to learn with me.
And thank you all for coming along with me on my writerly adventures!
~Nicky
