👋 Hey Mori crew,

This newsletter is a bit late, but it’s only because we’ve been very busy at the lab. I know I often say that, but in the last weeks, we’ve installed 4 new machines, signed an agreement for a new space, and integrated two new scanning options into our workflow. It really felt like we got a lot done in a very short amount of time, which is just super satisfying!

I also wanted to comment on the sales of the dev and scanning bundles. While we knew it was the right thing to do, it was a bit scary for us to talk about the changes coming to our pricing structure. But after sending the first email, we got overwhelmed by the amount of bundles that were sold. We had to reorder them 3x as we each time really underestimated how much would be sold. All this is just for me to say thank you for your support.

It’s super motivating and truly helps us make Mori Film Lab grow into a more sustainable, innovative, and qualitative place!

“A ray of sunshine at last. Taken with my FM2 on Fuji Across 100 II. My main work happens in the streets, in black and white and mainly with flash, but since this winter I've been composing and creating images at home. Images are slower to come because they depend on the few rays of sunlight that are flat receives. It’s a research on form and light in my day-to-day life which is therefore necessarily quite personal and era-specific.”

A few months back, we shared with you our attempt to get our FujiFilm SP3000 fully virtualised..

The whole story had an open ending as we ended up being unable to run a stable machine. But 2 weeks ago, Reiss from Optimize Services came back to the lab after having worked on better software for the past few months. After last time’s rather dramatic defeat, the stakes and the pressure were high… But this time, with the new computers and the freshly ported software, it worked! 🥳

Reiss also got our extra V30 processor converted to black and white, a dream come true that means we can now offer a faster and higher quality black and white developing service!
