Meeting will go over the competition rules and scoring standards. Attendees will receive 1 point. Please contact Academics if you are unable to attend.
Competition will be held on 12/13. Please help your student prepare. All students are required to participate. Please report absence to your teacher by 11/22/2020 and submit a recitation video by 12/13/2020 1:00pm to Academics . (Contest Rules )

Seal of Biliteracy Test Registration
The last 2020 Seal of Biliteracy Test（AAPPL）is scheduled on December 19 and 20 (registration deadline 12/14). Due to COVID, at-home testing is being offered. Registration is done through NCACLS website. Students with a score passing the certification standard will be rewarded according to ECS School Team policy. Please contact Ms. Huang for questions related to registration, examinations and the Seal of Biliteracy, or parent volunteer opportunities.
ECS Typing Team Recruitment
Greater Washington area Inter-school Chinese Character Recognition Competition is scheduled to be held on 5/22/2021. ECS School Team will start training in December from 16:00-16:30. We are currently recruiting for Elementary Group (3rd -5th grade) & Middle School Group (6th-8th grade).
Mandarin Online Tutoring
ECS Typing Team will be providing tutoring through Zoom every Saturday 5pm-6pm, including pinyin typing, homework and recitation assistance. All Zhuyin & Pinyin students are welcomed. (Sign up form )
Fall Fundraising
The fundraising team is preparing for holiday gift sales and bidding auctions. We are looking for popular items or restaurant gift cards. Every family donating a gift worth $15 will receive 1 service point and you can also request a tax deduction certificate. Contact Fundraising if you have any ideas. Last date to donate is 11/30. The auction bidding activity will last for two weeks with delivery before Christmas.
