Low Income Housing Guides for Renters

If you regularly struggle to pay your monthly rent, there are housing programs that help relieve that stress for qualified applicants. The Low Income Housing Guide for Renters has all the information needed for Americans who are in need of federal housing programs provided by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Applying for affordable housing can be involved and complicated, and this guide has been written to make that process easy to understand.

Coronavirus Resources for Low-Income Households

Affordable Housing Online will continue monitoring the state's and federal government's response to the COVID-19 outbreak and maintain a list of resources to help low-income households navigate critical services during this unprecedented time.

Food Assistance at Pantries

The majority of pantries are still open to the public but have shifted to a “drop off” model at vehicles, such as the Action Center in Lakewood.

Additionally, many pantries such as Metro Caring are allowing folks to come on behalf of those unable to come—just make sure you have the client’s name and birthday to receive their benefits.

For providers, and/or those looking for support around food, you should call the Hunger-Free Hotline for the most up to date, specific information: 855-855-4626 (toll-free) 720-382-2920 (metro Denver).

Smaller pantries may be closing because many volunteers are over the age of 65+, please call ahead to confirm open hours.
