Who We Are

Six Strings Acoustic brings live music into the classrooms of children with special needs.

December's Story

This is our second year playing in the Scottsdale Elementary School District. Dominic is one of the students we play for and is one of the sweetest kids you are ever going to meet. He is currently confined to a wheelchair and has multiple disabilities but he loves his “Rock and Roll.” His teachers tell us that he gets very excited when he knows that Stuart is coming to play.

This Fall a needed surgery took Dominic away from school for several months. We asked Dominic’s teacher to reach out to his parents to ask if we could come play a private concert and obviously the answer was, "Yes!" Stuart surprised Dominic one magical Saturday and played for the family. Dominic’s younger sister even joined in on her ukulele.

Dominic’s Mom said, “Seeing our son's face light up is the highlight of everyday and that visit truly was so special to all of us.”

Dominic is back in school and his familiar voice yelling “Rock and Roll” is heard once again when Stuart enters the classroom.

This is just one of many stories about the joy that music brings to the lives of children. For this holiday season we have entered the CrowdRise by GoFundMe Holiday Challenge. Every dollar we raise puts us in the running for cash prizes distributed throughout the challenge period ending January 2, 2019. Please help us by making your donation count so that we can continue to bring music into classrooms of children with special needs. Supporting the arts in our public schools is needed now more than ever.

Where we are going

We are looking for more musicians who would like to be a part of our organization. Training will be provided.

We are hoping to bring on a special needs teacher/consultant to work with us in 2019.

We continue to build and expand our Board of Directors.

How YOU can help

100% of all donations go to support our music in the schools Children’s Program. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and a part of the State of Arizona’s Qualifying Charitable Giving Program matching dollar-for-dollar tax credit. The assigned Qualifying Charitable Organization Code is: 20925. Donors are required to use this code when taking the tax credit on their Arizona State income tax returns.
