Art in the West is an annual juried exhibition and auction featuring traditional and contemporary art that celebrates the landscapes, wildlife, people, cultures and history of the High Desert—a region that stretches from the eastern slope of the Cascades and Sierras in the west to the Wyoming Basin and Colorado Plateau in the east and Northern Arizona in the south to Southeastern British Columbia in the north.

The Essential(s) poster series presents the artwork of seven established veteran artists whose creations are currently featured in the permanent collection of the state of New Mexico via the Art in Public Places program. The poster series is intended to honor and thank our current front line employees and their families.
Featured above is Crush, a bronze sculpture by Mark Yale Harris, PFC First Class US Army. On the verso, a quote from Mr. Harris reads: "Thank you to the true heroes on the front line. They are the individuals who are keeping the country running."
The Essential(s) poster series has been widely distributed to first responder and essential worker sites across the state, including: hospitals, Covid19 test sites, Balloon Fiesta Park, grocery stores, fire departments, NM Public Health offices statewide and to our excellent Governor and her Communications staff.
