Dear Families and Friends of the School,

It was another busy week for the students of Belmont Primary School. Our Year 5 children had an overnight camp at the MERC Centre at Long Bay, while the Year 6 children are now on their way home after four days at Mt Maunganui. I would like to thank all the teachers involved for their additional commitment to making these activities possible and all the parents who attended these camps so the children could have new experiences. I know all the children had fun, overcame some challenges and enjoyed making new memories.

Our annual school fair is next weekend, Saturday 22 March. We need your support. The PTA committee works very hard in coordinating and organising this day, it takes a lot of planning. You would have received communication from the PTA on how you can support the school. Lollies or small toys in a jar are required for the ‘Jar Grid Game’. We need cakes and slices for the baking stall - cake boxes will be provided to all families prior to the fair. You will also be sent a brown paper bag which we ask you to return with a lovely bottle of something for the ‘Mystery Bottle’ stall. We require parents to all volunteer to help for an hour or two at a stall. Your child’s classroom has been allocated a stall. If that has filled up then we would love you to jump into a time with one of the other stalls. The Battle of the Schools also takes place on the field and this is an exciting event involving many of our Year 6 children and teams from the surrounding schools.
