Incident Type: Robbery
Incident Date: 31 October 2022, 1800hrs LT
Lat/Long: 22° 48' 43.31" N – 70° 3' 12.39" E
A robbery has been reported aboard a chemical tanker while anchored at Kandla Anchorage, India. Approximately six illegal boarders armed with knives and rods were discovered onboard the tanker by crew members on duty. The boarders escaped with ship's property once the alarm was raised and crew were mustered. Crew were reported safe and the incident was reported to the Port Authority.
This is the second incident of this type to occur in Kandla Anchorage this year. In both incidents, robbers were able to escape with ships' items.
