Honestly speaking, there can't be a more exhausted soul than me right now. It's been almost 3 weeks now that we have been coming to the office on all 7 days of the weak and it's damn tiring.
The whole area of Shahpur Jat shuts down for Sunday and just being here today feels wrong!
But the day is kinda nice, our kitchen space on the 3rd floor gets ample morning sunlight and I am cozied up in a perfectly sunny spot, so I think it's gonna be okay!
Welcome to Dohful's Sunday Letter guys, I'm soaking in as much Sun as I can before Delhi summer arrives and I start running away from it again.
I have been posting like a crazy person about our new office space on Insta for the past couple of days. In my defense, it's not just an office space, no Sir.
It's a life goal for us.
It's the first proper office we would be sitting in. Ever since Dohful started, we were working out of the same space where our kitchen was. It was where we shot almost all our Youtube videos, clicked all our photos, did our product trials, and celebrated the smallest of victories with our team.
For two whole years, that kitchen was our workplace. But for the last year or so, as Dohful started growing, the kitchen became more and more busy.
From morning to evening we would bake the cookies to be dispatched that day, and after evening, we would make small preparations like chopping the chocolates, nuts, etc. for the next day.
All in all, there was no space for me and Chaman to sit down, brainstorm, plan and execute anything. That's when we decided, its time we had our own space.
And there wasn't one thing we wanted to do from our space. It had to be an office where we & a small team could work, space where we could meet cookie & coffee enthusiasts, a studio where we could do our recipe development, and the most important one - a place where we could make content around cookies and eggless baking.
Both Chaman & I are suckers for food content.
And I mean all sorts of content - articles, photos, and videos, you name it, we've seen it. There is so much good content being created around food from all over the world and not even a small percentage of it has trickled to India. Whether it's about organizing a kitchen, or about gadgets, or 100 ways to make latte art, there are so many things unexplored in the way we eat and cook food.
So with a 350 sqft space, we had a mountain of expectations and somehow we had to make all of that possible, and more. Hence we embarked on the journey which is yet not completed.
I will talk to you more about how the place eventually turns out, in my subsequent letters. Whether it's anything close to what we had in our mind or not. And what more we did to achieve our dream.
But the dream doesn't end here guys. The main reason we are going to all these lengths is that we want to now create a small team of passionate foodies with whom we will make all our cookie recipes and food content.
We are looking for a bunch of people - someone who loves to bake and try new recipes, and someone who can shoot videos/photos (& is adept with the adobe creative suite) to start with.
