Filling my well in April sure paid off!
Last time I wrote I mentioned that my Muses were finally speaking to me again. It was a huge relief, but a little stressful as I finished up some major commitments I had in late April and early May. With all of those behind me now, the creative side of my brain has awoken and I am ready to get back to work!
My husband and I are now empty-nesters, as moving my youngest out was one of the major commitments I had in April. While that comes with its share of challenges, it is also something I am looking forward to as we navigate this new path together. What this means is that we are able to spread out in the same small house we raised two children in, using the stuff the two of us have accumulated in a 30-year span together. While I am sad to have my babies move on, I am also excited for the potential. We have been busy moving into the spaces they left behind and taking inventory of what is really important to keep and what we can pass along. I have more of that to do in my life than you can imagine, so starting on the process is something that truly excites me.
What it means is that for the first time since I started writing, I will have a true "office." My author friend Meka James just went through a similar project and coined hers a "lady lounge" which is what I have decided mine will be. Don't you worry, my husband will get his "man cave" as well, although to be honest both spaces will be shared with items that have yet to come back from our storage unit. I plan on posting progress as we go along on Instagram, and while it will be a slower transformation, I hope to have made some progress by early next year.
Stay tuned!
