Last time I wrote I mentioned that my Muses were finally speaking to me again. It was a huge relief, but a little stressful as I finished up some major commitments I had in late April and early May. With all of those behind me now, the creative side of my brain has awoken and I am ready to get back to work!
My husband and I are now empty-nesters, as moving my youngest out was one of the major commitments I had in April. While that comes with its share of challenges, it is also something I am looking forward to as we navigate this new path together. What this means is that we are able to spread out in the same small house we raised two children in, using the stuff the two of us have accumulated in a 30-year span together. While I am sad to have my babies move on, I am also excited for the potential. We have been busy moving into the spaces they left behind and taking inventory of what is really important to keep and what we can pass along. I have more of that to do in my life than you can imagine, so starting on the process is something that truly excites me.
What it means is that for the first time since I started writing, I will have a true "office." My author friend Meka James just went through a similar project and coined hers a "lady lounge" which is what I have decided mine will be. Don't you worry, my husband will get his "man cave" as well, although to be honest both spaces will be shared with items that have yet to come back from our storage unit. I plan on posting progress as we go along on Instagram, and while it will be a slower transformation, I hope to have made some progress by early next year.
Love For All Seasons - A Goddesses In Love Novelette - Only .99!
This book came out in February, and I love so many things about it. If you haven't checked it out, I hope you will give it a read. It's short, no more than about 70 pages or so, but it was a super fun story to write and I loved giving Hecate a happily-ever-after!
Book 2 will feature Medusa as our Heroine (yup you heard that right) and I will be working on edits in the next couple of weeks. I'm excited to share her story and hope for a summer launch!
If you have read Love For All Seasons, please consider leaving a review at your vendor of choice!
While I have done this event live in year's past, this year will be a little different. If nothing else, I have learned to adapt :)
The live event will take place on Sunday, July 18th, 2021, at Eastern Market in Detroit, MI. It is a fun event, so if you are in town be sure to fit it in! Because they had to limit the size, they are also offering a virtual presence for vendors who weren't able to secure a table. I will be participating in this portion of the event, and will provide more details as I know them. Here is what I have so far:
I am still woefully behind on my TBR pile, and keep side-tracking myself with all the new releases I see coming out! Oh boy my wallet has been dented! I took a turn intoLore by Alexandra Bracken, and am enjoying it now that I got further in. I'm also still in the middle of Magical Midlife Madness by K.F. Breene and am almost done, so if you know of any Paranormal Women's Fiction that focuses on an older heroine, please be sure to let me know!
Still no word on my query for Book 1 the flowershop series so guessing that means it's a rejection. What that means is that I will be pulling it out once again and doing a read-through to see if any tweaks are needed before hitting the query road once again. Book 2 is coming along nicely and I am about the 2/3 mark and can finally see the ending. I am excited to get back into that world, so tweaking book 1 is definitely the way I will get my head back into the story.
As always, I hope this letter finds you happy and healthy, and if you ever want to chat, you know where to find me!
