It has been reported that a fishing vessel has been attacked whilst underway approximately 60nm south of Cotonou. One speedboat with armed pirates onboard approached the fishing vessel, once alongside the pirates managed to board and then kidnap six crew members. The pirates departed the scene in an easterly direction. The nationality of the crew is five Korean and one Ghanaian.

UPDATE 1 : The six members of crew that were kidnapped have now been released.
