Principal’s Comments:

Kia ora koutou,

I would like to begin by offering the school's condolences this week to two families in our community who have recently lost loved ones.

Lansing Wang, mother of Stephanie in Room 12, sadly passed away last week following a battle with Cancer. I would like to thank those who have been able to support the family through these times. Funds raised through a givealittle page for Lansing will be used to support the children in their future. We also extend our condolences to the family of Goran Andrevski who passed away last week. Goran’s three children attended Belmont Primary School in recent years and he was a fantastic member of our school community. The school staff have many happy memories of sharing a limoncello with him at Portofino.

The school production of Aladdin Jr. is ready for opening night next Wednesday. Tickets for all seven nights are sold out and it promises to be a highlight of the year. Thank you to all those behind the scenes who built props, made costumes, ran lines, and painted magic carpets.

Some important dates to mark in your social calendars next term. Dads’ Night is back! Friday 18 October is the night our Belmont Dads come together to show their support and generosity for their child’s education. Then on Saturday 9 November, we have the Summer Shindig with a live band, live auction, dancing, food and drinks. Both events will have auctions to help raise funds for the school. If you would like to contribute auction items please contact me or the PTA.

Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori next week is a fantastic opportunity for our tamariki to engage in kōrero Māori. A home challenge sheet will be in the children's bags with ideas for activities you can have a go at throughout the week.

Please continue to keep an eye on the School Community Calendar available on our website. I look forward to seeing many of you at Room 11’s assembly tomorrow.

PTA Update| Calendar Art

It’s Calendar Art Time Again!

Dear Parents

Orders are now open to order for our annual Kids Art Work fundraiser! Each child has made an individual piece of artwork in class, which you can have turned into a calendar, diary, cards and/or sketch pad. These make treasured keepsakes and are perfect gifts for friends and family. (Pop into school to see these on display in the classrooms!)

Order today and have your child’s artwork turned into a wall calendar ($17.50 ), spiral bound diary ($19), pack of 8 x greeting cards with envelopes ($17), Mouse mats ($18) and/or sketch pads ($18).Every order you place will raise funds for the school. We have an example of each of the products in the school office in case you would like to take a look.

We expect orders to be delivered to your child’s class by early November in plenty of time for Christmas and posting overseas.

3/. Enter your child’s room & name when prompted

The last day to order will be Wednesday the 25 September 2024

Pink Ribbon Fundraiser

I'm a BPS school Mum, some may know I've hosted fundraisers before. I'm doing one again this year for Breast Cancer NZ on 21 Sept.
