Housing is Maternal Health: The Pursuit of Housing Justice for Pregnant and Parenting People follows the journey of three fictional parents, Maya, Asia, and Kiana. The tool outlines the causes and consequences of housing injustice and barriers to accessing safe and dignified housing and provides a framework for achieving a just housing system that is responsive to the needs of Black pregnant and parenting people in Washington, DC.
We hope this resource will support housing justice and perinatal health advocates, clinicians, lawmakers, researchers, and administrators to frame and sustainably address the challenges faced by unhoused pregnant and parenting people.
