Mid-February is the time for skiing (and a few crowds) in France. However, in Provence, there are other things on the agenda with early signs of spring on the horizon and plenty of family-friendly festivals. If winter is getting you down, book a spot (there are only two left) on a lavender tour this June.
The Open 13 Provence ATP tennis tournament is underway in Marseille, with a few days of action before the final matches on Sunday the 23rd.
On the French Riviera, it’s party time. In Nice, the Carnival runs until February 29th. This year the theme is “King of Fashion” with daily parades, 17 floats and over 1000 dancers. Head to Menton before March 3rd for the 87th Fête du Citron.
In Aix-en-Provence, visit Hotel de Caumont for The Great Masters of Japan until March 22nd. This exhibit includes Japanese costumes, prints and precious objects from the Georges Leskowicz Collection.
Enjoy “winter” in the South,
