Covers and Dragons

If you've been reading this newsletter for a while, you'll be familiar with the redesigned covers for the Choices and Conseqences series - they are in the header above. But now, finally, I have updated the ebooks online at all retailers so you will see them there too - more about that (and dragons) below.

Last month I asked how you identified - much as I suspected almost 90% of us identify as female! I think novels that involve romance do appeal more to females, although every male I know who has read the Choices and Consequences series has enjoyed it, so don't limit who you recommend it to! This month's quick question is about the environment in which you live - are you a city centre dweller, live out in the countryside, or somewhere inbetween?

Behind the Scenes

Here's a closer look at the new ebook covers for Thread of Hope, Weave of Love, and Cloth of Grace. These should now be what you see online for the ebooks in this series. The concept and colours remain consistent with the originals, but they are now more in line with genre expectations. (Because we all judge a book by its cover, at least at first glance.)

But I'm not changing the covers on the paperback versions - those will stick with the original covers which are based on paintings by Ollie Pengilley.

If you prefer paperbacks, check out The Book Dragon shop below (yep, this is where the dragons come in!)

The Book Dragon is a great little bookshop in Stockton on Tees, England, which stocks independently published books (including mine), and a whole range of dragon themed products and sculptures. If you happen to be local, do pop in and have a look. If not (and I know most of us aren't!), check out their website here, along with their online shop. Although they are based in England they ship internationally, too. If you have a look at the shop (either online or in person) don't forget to check out the dragon sculptures and the mugs - these are so, so tempting....

If you're an author, they have some other services worth looking at. As well as stocking paperbacks, and holding both physical and virtual book signing sessions, they will also provide free book reviews. On top of that they offer training, editorial, and marketing services. Well worth taking a look.
