If we had to pinpoint the ONE thing that we want for Black creatives this year, it would be the gift of clarity.
We talking about clarity?! *Allen Iverson voice* Not cash? paid invoices? mentorship? new tech tools? Clarity?
Yes clarity. Think about how you've felt on your worse day as a Creative. I can bet that day was either confusing, cloudy, frustrating, discouraging or a combination of all those things. Usually when we're at the brink of wanting to give up, it's because we're lost about the what to do and where to go.
Clarity around who you are, what you're working towards, what you're building, and how you want to go about doing both, is the greatest gift we can have.
If you're clear on those things, the decisions and choices that you need to make will be easier to do. Whether it's a major life decision or a small daily habit, positive change often happens over time. And as things change, once you return back to a state of clarity, you'll be able to adjust and make moves from there. So then you'll know where your cash is coming from, who to send paid invoices too, what type of mentor to look for, what things you need for your workspace, what part of your craft deserves more love, etc.
So here's to a year of knowing exactly what the fuck you want and not being scared to embrace it.
to a year filled with clarity,
Melissa
