“I studied architecture at the University of Bath and really loved the city. So when I decided to leave London, where I had been working for a number of years, Bath was the perfect choice. I'm also an avid swimmer and love leaping into pools, lidos, rivers and oceans wherever and whenever I can.
I had seen Cleveland Pools on previous visits to Bath and had always hoped it might reopen one day. So I was delighted to see that work had finally started after so many years of neglect.
I make architectural illustrations as a hobby and, after my last boat trip along the Avon, was inspired to paint the Pools. Once I realised volunteers were needed to help complete the restoration, I thought it would be the perfect chance to get involved. Luckily for me, the Cleveland Pools Trust needed some new images and I was delighted to be able to help.
I'm thrilled that the Trust felt my images were good enough to use and I'm really excited to see the Pools restored to their former glory. I can't imagine a more beautiful and unique place to go for a swim. Once they're open, I'll be going as often as I can.”
