More great things...
Show Up. Be Seen. Stand Out. Are You Game?

Hello again,

Welcome back to the "Great Things" newsletter!

We had a very stressful week in the home of blended family land but on the plus side, I finally changed my name officially by deed poll, from Lea Woodward to Lea Jovy (Jovy was the name my birth mother gave me before I was adopted). It feels great to do and a significant step in the journey to being more me :)

On to the great thing I read last week that had an impact on me...

The Latest & Greatest

Have you seen those ads in your stream that ask if you're still foolish enough to be writing content, posting daily/weekly and generally trying to add to the conversation and create value for your audience through useful content? And instead there's a smarter way, a shortcut if you will, that doesn't require all that work and instead you can work smarter not harder...

I certainly have and for a while there I was disheartened, curious about this smarter approach and wondering why I should be even bothering to keep writing blog posts, newsletters or being active on social media. After all, if there's a faster, smarter, more effective way, why wasn't I doing it?

Then I read this.

I've been a big fan of the 1,000 true fans concept ever since I came across it years ago and I'm constantly reminding folk around me that there's never been a better time to create and share your own work, gone are the gatekeepers of old who made it prohibitively costly or difficult to do.

And there's also logic...

It simply is NOT possible to go from ZERO to raving fans by shortcutting the process of building trust, cultivating relationships, earning loyalty...and online most of that is done through showing up, creating and sharing value and doing this consistently

The economics of writing make so much sense even today, and it's by far my favourite medium for connecting, sharing my thoughts and creating value.

Do the economics of writing make sense for you?

My Latest & Greatest

Location Independent vX.0

This is the latest incarnation of Location Independent.

Over 13 years after its first outing, this one is the first in a long time which feels right and aligned with where I am personally and professionally. It's not quite 'there' yet – the messaging needs tweaking and the only thing on offer currently is the Remotely Intimate newsletter, but there will be more to come ;)

I would love to hear if you're doing something great that you'd like to share, personal or professional...just hit 'reply' and drop me a line.

Until next time,

Lea
