SC DEW Recommends you go ahead and Register today even though the system will not be ready to process until the end of the week. You should expect approximately three weeks for your claim to be processed, but it will be paid out retroactively back to your initial eligibility date.

Still Have Questions on Unemployment?

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: Be on the Lookout for a WEBINAR Announcement for TUESDAY April 28 at 2PM.  SC DEW Staff will be doing a SCR Webinar specifically Independent Contractors and how to file an Unemployment claim.

Over $9 Billion in SBA resources was given out to Real Estate Sector in the first round.  Have you applied for the PPP Loan or EIDL and not sure what to do?

Congress has passed an additional $300 Billion in Relief. We are not sure when the funds will be ready for distribution yet but you should start preparing now.

  • If you have applied for the PPP loan and not received the funds, check with your Lender.
  • If you have applied for the EIDL Loan and have a Confirmation Number, you are already in the queue and are good to go.
  • If you interested in either program and have not applied, now is the time to start preparing.
    • PPP Loans, work with your Lender you have an established relationship with already.  You will need to have filed your 2019 Taxes to take advantage of this program.  If you are denied by your Lender because you are a REALTOR, let NAR know Immediately. All Lenders were given guidance by SBA on April 14th that stated REALTORS were eligible.
    • EIDL Loans are currently unavailable online to apply. When we receive notification of an open date for online applications we will release this information.

NAR has a lot of resources in information consolidated in one place to explain all three loans/grants currently available. Click Here for More Information.

If you do not know what is the right thing to do for your Business or individual needs, please consult your CPA or Tax Attorney for advice.

Agents to Sellers: Don’t Take Your House Off the Market

In April, amid the flurry of spring market activity, REALTORS® usually set aside time to commemorate the anniversary of the passage of the Fair Housing Act. We gather to learn about the ways people are unfairly shut out of the housing market and recommit to expanding equal housing opportunity.

This year is different. With much of the country under stay-at-home orders to slow the spread of the new coronavirus, REALTORS® must find new ways to continue spring showings, and Fair Housing Month events have been canceled or postponed.
