It's a slogan that would work well for those topics, but actually today I'm writing about meat.
Another slogan then: it's not the cow, it's the how.
I wrote recently about what seems (to me) like the unacceptably vast amount of land needed to produce beef and dairy. Francesca, a farmer and land agent, got in touch to say that she disagreed. She grew up on a smallholding, went vegan for similar environmental reasons to me, found it impacted her health, went back to eating meat, started regenerative farming on 120 acres, and now is grazing cattle on 1200 acres on the Isle of Wight!
And so I went for a walk with Francesca to hear her perspective and learn about her life as a farmer.
