The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced that it will be holding its next Tribal Workshop at Indian Island, Maine. Hosted by the Penobscot Nation, the FCC Tribal Workshop is designed to provide information to assist Tribal Nations to identify and evaluate opportunities to develop more robust broadband infrastructure and services in Tribal communities. The Tribal Workshop will also provide an overview and general information about the FCC and how it conducts its regulatory responsibilities. FCC staff will provide presentations on a broad range of FCC programs and policies that support the deployment of communications infrastructure and services in Tribal communities, including Broadband Data Collection, broadband funding programs, and informational updates on current FCC proceedings. Registration for the Tribal Workshop is free and Tribal leaders, Tribal IT managers, government and community planners and managers, Tribal enterprise specialists, and representatives of Tribal social service agencies, schools, and libraries are encouraged to attend.
