Invisible’s new “Babesiosis, Bartonellosis and (Lyme) Borreliosis Symptom Reference” is a one-page symptom list for three common tick- and flea-borne diseases. Patients with one of these diseases can become quite ill. Patients with all three — nicknamed “the 3-Bs” — can rapidly slide into a debilitating and life-threatening medical condition. This is why rapid diagnosis of these diseases, each which requires a unique treatment protocol, is so crucial.
In the acute phase, all three may start with flu-like symptoms—fever, chills, headache, and fatigue. As the diseases progress, there are symptom patterns that can help clinicians diagnose the individual ailments. Invisible’s symptom list can serve as a memory aid for clinicians, or as a prompt for patients in a waiting room. It will also be distributed to patients and clinicians by a pharmacy network in New Jersey.
This clinical tool fills an urgent need, in that there’s often a lag time from when new research reaches medical textbooks and frontline physicians. Invisible’s all-in-one list includes a full range of symptoms from common to less common, each of them backed by reports in peer-reviewed medical literature. It helps support better clinical decision-making, resulting in faster diagnoses and treatments, and less patient suffering.
This resource is brought to you by Invisible Education Initiative, generously funded by the Montecalvo Foundation as part of the Physician Resource Library. The expansion of our education efforts relies on tax deductible donations. Please consider contributing here to join our education efforts. For larger donations that empower us to attend more medical conferences and develop new tools and courses, please reach out to us at Laura@invisible.international. Together, we can educate more physicians on how to recognize and treat vector-borne and environmental illness, starting with Lyme disease. Together, we can save lives.
