U.S. President Joe Biden pledged long before he took the oath of office Wednesday to strive to bridge the current bitter political divide.  “This is the time to heal in America,” he said.

Biden can achieve some success but the threat of violence is will hang over his administration. The sheer variety of names and symbols at the Jan. 6 insurrection boggles the mind: QAnon, American flags with the stars replaced by the Roman numeral III, Pepe the Frog masks, the Crusader cross, MAGA gear including a flag portraying Donald Trump as Rambo, as riding a Tyrannosaurus rex, and the “Zombie Outbreak Response Team, The New York Times reported.    Continue reading →

President Trump on Tuesday  January 19, 2021, 1released a videotaped farewell address touting his economic and foreign policy achievements. Referring to his followers, he said, “the movement we started is only just beginning.”

He did not mention President-elect Joe Biden by name, but he did say, “This week we inaugurate a new administration and pray for its success in keeping America safe and prosperous.” Watch his full 19-minute speech here.

 Jan 19, 2021 – Kaieteur News – Failure to comply with a fundamental principle in legal procedure has led to one of the election petition cases being thrown out of the High Court. Chief Justice (Ag) Roxane George-Wiltshire, yesterday dismissed election petition (99/P) for procedural non-compliance of service on leader of the A Partnership for National Unity +Alliance For Change (APNU+AFC) party and former President, David Granger.

The Chief Justice (CJ) nonetheless agreed to continue hearing the other election’s petition case (88/P) which was filed on behalf of Claudette Thorne and Heston Bostwick to challenge the legitimacy of the elections report which allowed for Dr. Irfaan Ali to be sworn in as President.    Continue reading →
