Dear Curlers,
Hope this email finds you all well and enjoying the curling on TV. As we just finished watching the Scotties and now with the start of the Brier this evening, we feel the excitement and anticipation of getting back to game play here at GEWC next season.
We have been enjoying the enthusiasm over the last few months from the over fifty junior members at our club as they have continued to practice and play games. We have had a nice turn out of adult members who continue to enjoy the opportunity to get out and throw some rocks, fine tune their skills and play some friendly 1 v 1 challenges against one another.
We have also made some new friends from neighboring clubs who have come out to enjoy our facility. We have had the opportunity to highlight our amazing club, welcome those that were displaced due to their clubs closing their doors and for that we are thankful to have been able to provide a home to you.
Saturday, March 20th will be the last day of curling at GEWC. We will have details going out to those that have participated in the second half of this season as to what that final day will look like.
For those curlers that still have items in your lockers, we ask that you email - goldenearswinterclub@gmail.com and make arrangements to come down and empty out your locker prior to March 20th. The city is renovating the change rooms, new flooring will be going in and some fresh paint. We require all lockers emptied as these will be physically removed to put the new carpet down, then put back in place.
Ball Hockey will be back up and running this season starting April 1st, which is great news for our club. With the absence of a season last year we were unable to generate that much anticipated and needed revenue.
Please stay tuned for more information to come as we continue to work towards planning for the 2021/2022 Season.
Your management team,
Dean and Shannon
