Hello from IdRaHaJe! First off, we apologize that it has been such a long time since we sent out an update on our life and ministry at camp. The last six months have been one of the most challenging seasons we have ever faced. We praise God that He carried us through Summer 2021.
Navigating camp ministry in the midst of ever-changing COVID restrictions has been stressful and at times overwhelming. Heading into the summer there was still a lot of uncertainty around what the state and our local county would allow for camp to operate overnight with COVID restrictions. In late April, it was decided that we could run at 60% capacity as long as we had all campers and staff stay cohorted, do daily health checks, and quarantine if exposed. These restrictions forced us to rethink operating camp. We were incredibly thankful for the dynamic team of young people God provided to serve. They poured out constantly to make sure that kids were loved, supervised and exposed to the truth of Christ. We had a total of 2,371 campers attend and 311 made first time decisions to follow Christ. We did have to shut down camp for one week because of COVID, but we praise God for the 8 weeks that we had kids onsite.
