Happy October! It's one of my favorite months of the year. I love all the Halloween fun. Do you decorate your house for Halloween? Over the years, I've collected so many Halloween decorations that it's practically like Christmas!
If you read my last newsletter, you might remember that I signed a deal with Podium Audio to have them create audiobooks for my About Love series. To be honest, I've never listened much to audio and knew little about it. As a result, I've spent the past month learning what I didn't know.
For instance, did you know that it's common to use the same narrators for an entire series? I had no idea. I also didn't know that in books like mine, where each chapter switches between the hero and heroine, it's common to use two narrators. (I was very happy to learn that.) I signed up for Audible to try it out and discovered it's great listening to audiobooks!
As part of the process of producing the books, Podium recently sent me a list of narrators who are good at romantic comedy. They wanted me to choose which ones I thought worked well for my characters. It was interesting. I had the geek listen to them, and since my two sons were around, I had them listen as well. It was pretty fun. We all had our favorites. (My sons haven't read my books, so they could only guess who might work.)
In the end, I sent Podium my top three picks for both male and female. I knew the ones I wanted might already be booked. Well, guess what? I got my number one pick for each! Yay! So the narrators for the series are going to be: Kyle Mason and Samantha Cook
I have no doubt they're going to do a fantastic job.
