Hiya, folks!
This newsletter normally goes out every other Monday, but yesterday just got away from me. I spent most of the day looking up from what I was doing and wondering where the hell the time had gone? I did manage to get my walk in, on the first day of the NYCRUNS Subway System Challenge II, in which I need to walk (or run) 26.5 miles per week to meet my 691 mile goal over the next six months.
This whole month has been like that so far--I keep looking up and wondering where the time went and why I haven't gotten as much done as I'd hoped. Editing is going slowly, the new book is on hiatus for the mo, I'm taking one writing class and teaching another, and there's a crapton of non-writing stuff going on that's sucking up a lot of time.
In other words, it's September. It's always like this for me. The excitement of new beginnings in the Fall and a dawning realization that I might have bitten off more than I can chew for the rest of the year. Things will settle down eventually. They usually do.
In the meantime, there's a little more than a week left for the big LGBTQ+ giveaway below and a poll to help me decide what to read next. What are you reading right now?
Writing music this week: Metallica's S&M2 album with the San Francisco Symphony, which has more or less been on repeat for days now.
