It has been approximately two years since covid began to spread and our schools shifted to remote learning in March 2020. In this circle, we can hold space for students or staff to share about these past two years. 

So many educators are working to make our schools healing places for our young people. In the meantime, I think small changes like this can make a huge difference. I love this technique from Britt Hawthorne to get students' attention (left), and it reminds me of how Vanessa Quiñones says that the breathing exercise at the beginning of restorative circles are as much for us as they are for students. 

I love the Algebra and Statistics lessons from Skew the Script.  Skew The Script provides free, relevant math curriculum to teachers and students. Their lessons explore ”off script” problems—authentic, real-world problems that don’t have one solution—using mathematical reasoning.
