Hi , Bhavani here
I hope the month of May has been especially good for you. Here are more tulips to enjoy. For some reason I’ve always loved tulips, and unlike last month’s picture of a lone tulip rising up in the midst of the rain, these are in full bloom—again a symbol of my recovery from my fall in March.
It’s been quite a journey for me going from the wheelchair to a walker and finally recently trying to walk without any aids. I still don’t totally have my balance back, but I’m up and walking—and that feels great! The only tricky part is that the healing has been pretty much a full-time job, so I’ve not been able to put any energy into getting more Soothing Series songs and chants out.
But now I’m back at work on them, and more should be coming out this next week. So take a look at my website next weekend and see all the additional ones—made possible by your generous donations. As always, they’ll be available for only $1.29 per track. And now there’s new research showing just how helpful this kind of music can be for soothing you into sleep! I’ll talk more about that next time.
Today I want to share something else. During the pandemic I was very happy to see the advent of free online conferences featuring leading meditation teachers. Perhaps you’ve participated in some. So I have something to recommend to you—happening next Saturday, June 3rd, at 1 to 2:15 PM ET, 10 to 11:15 PT.
It’s a free online special event, Discover the Joy of Spiritual Friendship, with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield, hosted by Omega Institute in partnership with Cloud Sangha. I have signed up to be present for this, and with all that we learned during the pandemic about the value of community, especially spiritual community, I hope you might consider attending also. You can see details and sign up here.
That’s it for this time. Thanks for being part of my community. Let me know how you’re doing and if you have any questions I can help with or comments on the following articles. Please continue to take very good care of yourself and your loved ones—and to extend your bounty of Loving Kindness to all!
