Many thanks to all our dedicated volunteers who kept the Farm maintained and growing, the nursery stocked and tidy, the volunteers and staff fed, the playgroups going, and the bees and chickens happy during the past year.

Our very first Grow, Share, Yarn was a really rich day of being together, yarning, sharing, learning and eating delicious food! We made damper from native millet, drank lemon myrtle tea straight from the tree, tasted various seasonal fruits and berries including a walking/tasting tour of the farm, shared seeds and produce, took cuttings and did some weaving with locally sourced lantana and dyed raffia.
The group was only small—12 people, young and old, saltwater and freshwater, from Yugarra, Goreng Goreng, Jinibara, Nugi/Quandamooka, Butchulla/Kabi Kabi, Wiradjuri and Gomeroi. Everyone learnt a lot, made connections, and took home lots of things to grow and eat at home.
A big thank you to Elders Uncle Michael Williams, Aunty Marion Williams, and Uncle BJ Murphy for being a part of the day. We’re also very grateful to Jacob Birch, Bruce Phillips and Jody Rallah for leading some of the activities.
Hope to see you all at the next one! (February 2022)
