Hi,
Welcome to With Less - a weekly newsletter dedicated to helping legal creatively do more with less.
First up, for your consideration is this quote from James Clear, author of Atomic Habits: "In the long-run, prioritization beats efficiency."
Next, I have used - to borrow the words of the Supreme Court of Canada - skill and judgement to put together a mega list of over 360 simplified words and phrases replacements. Think of it like a thesaurus for finding plain language alternatives to legalese or stuffy, archaic, or unclear wording.
You can download Marty Finestone's Mega List of Simplified Words & Phrases here.
No need to pay anything, fill out a form, or anything else like that. Feel free to share it with your network. The resource is licensed under a Creative Commons license.
Last, ah, about last week’s preamble having broken links to a Twitter thread about job candidate interview questions. In what I can only assume was a bizarre coincidence, the author of that thread disabled the public visibility of those tweets in the small window time between when I checked the accuracy of links in the morning and when the issue went out. Seriously! That window was around 2 hours. Sorry about for any confusion or inconvenience.
Have great week!
Marty
