Frankly, I'm amazed!

Wow, what a great response to last month's author question! I received over 220 individual responses and almost wore my keyboard out replying to everybody :-) I have another question for you this month:

What would make you consider a book then decide not to go ahead and buy it?

I'm thinking things like spelling errors, bad edits, poor covers, terrible formatting - what would make you put a book back on the shelf, even if it's a digital shelf? Just click reply to this email to share your thoughts. As ever, I'll select one of your responses at random and send a $10 Amazon gift card to the winner. Last month's recipient is announced at the bottom of this email.

Better late than never!

Can you believe it, I've just started watching 'The Wire' on TV ... and series 1 was made in 2002. It's been on my radar for a long time, but we were knee deep in nappies and kids' toys when it was originally released, so didn't watch it when it was first screened. So many people have recommended it to me over the years. I've now watched season 1 and I'm loving the characterization and dialogue. Are you a fan?

Great place for a murder?

I'm always looking out for great places to commit a murder! Not me personally, you understand. I'm referring to the characters in my books. The image above shows the Benidorm Cross, the location in Spain where the body is found in my thriller Who To Trust. When I was in Benidrom over Christmas and New Year I shot this short video showing where the body is found in the book - remember though, it's only fiction :-)

Phew, what a busy year!

I have just finished the first draft of my fourth book this year. I wrote 3 x Military Sci-Fi novels Jan-March, and I've just finished Left for Dead, my next thriller release. If you're a beta reader I'll be sending it out for feedback by the end of June - please let me know if you'd like to be added to that beta reading list ... just reply to this email if you want in :-)

Closes May 31 - get in quick!

A lot of my thrillers will be disappearing from the virtual shelves in June because they're getting new covers and makeovers for a re-release campaign starting in September. If you haven't read it yet, now is your last chance to grab a copy of Dead of Night along with over 50 fabulous FREE mystery and thriller novels.

Did you win?

Once again, thank you so much for your SUPERB responses to last month's author question which was:

What do you think about sex scenes in books?

In the interests of fairness and transparency, I like to film the selection process, and you can view that in the short video above.

This month's winner is:

Kathy Brown

Congratulations Kathy and thank you all for your excellent email responses.

Best wishes, Paul
