Dear friends,
Back in 2021, not long after Being A Ballerina was released, I got an email from Grace Kraaijvanger, the founder and CEO of The Hivery, an online mentorship community for artists, creatives, entrepreneurs, and anyone moving in those circles.
Grace is a former ballet dancer herself and has written about the significant impact ballet's had on her life, her work, and the way she looks at the world. She had read Being A Ballerina and thought my own life-- the movement from ballet dancer to writer-- could hold interest or inspiration of some sort to the Hivery's members.
So we recorded an interview for her podcast, "The Art of What's Next." Unfortunately, this was before I knew that my webcam was subpar, so the video is "artistically" blurry. Therefore, I suggest that if you're interested in checking out the episode, you just listen on Apple podcasts or Spotify and skip the YouTube version!
After we recorded the talk, time passed and I never heard from Grace about when it would be released. More time passed... I thought about inquiring, but eventually thought the Hivery had moved passed the point of a ballerina-writer's story holding much meaning.
But surprise! This past week Grace wrote to say she'd published the episode! So here it is, three years later, and hopefully still fresh.
Enjoy.
