From chocolate and Fat Tuesday to owls and supporting our students . . . here are a few of our favorite things to check out in Kennett this week . . .
Kennett Collaborative is a nonprofit led by a diverse and dynamic group of community members who love Kennett and want to help it become a more beautiful and welcoming community where all can belong and prosper. Each week, we introduce you to one of our Board members who share what they love about our community—and about Kennett Collaborative.
Jennifer and her family have been residents of Chester County since 2017. She's a loan officer for Delaware Valley Financial Mortgage LLC and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from Temple University and an MBA from Capella University. Jennifer brings her professional expertise to both the finance and economic development committees of Kennett Collaborative.
Jennifer enjoys spending time in Kennett Square and visiting the many great restaurants and shops in the Borough. She's excited to serve on the Board of Kennett Collaborative to help make Kennett continue to thrive.
Kennett Flash Director Andrew Miller has announced that he’s moving on to a position within the Performing Arts Division at Longwood Gardens, but he leaves the 13-year-old nonprofit performing arts organization in the heart of Kennett Square transformed and with a busy spring calendar of fantastic artists.
Since 2015, Miller has brought artists from around the country to perform here and has increased visibility for both the venue and the town. Miller also launched virtual performances and secured grant funding to bring The Flash safely through the pandemic.
The Flash plans to continue the very popular Rooftop Concert Series this summer—stay tuned for more details!
Join Chris and Mariana and family for the grand opening of their new location at 900 West Cypress Street, Kennett Square, on Tuesday, March 1st. Enoy 10% off your purchase (one day only) and samples of their newest menu item, flautas, and their delicious salsas.
Their new location offers a small retail space where you can restock on your favorite items. Follow Taste of Puebla on Instagram and Facebook for store updates and events.
You can read more about the Castaneda family's story here.
We leave you with a glimpse of spring at Anson B. Nixon Park. This photo, by Dylan Francis, was taken nearly two years ago—as the pandemic hit and the Kennett community began to appreciate this beautiful natural space in our backyard in a new way . We hope you'll take the opportunity to look for signs of new life unfurling in the park this spring, too.
Thank you for reading. We wish you a happy and healthy week "Around the Square" and hope to see you next week—in person or virtually—at the next KSQ Speaker Series event!
