Bouncing into Summer

Woohoo, events on the calendar and fingers crossed for a Summer of sunshine at the park.

Looking for a place to take the children or meet with friends over the school holidays? Remember our cafe is open 10am to 3pm daily providing refreshments for our visitors with toilet facilities.

Maybe get the kids cycling down for an ice cream or a spin on the skate park. Hardie Park has a children's play area, open green space, super slide and a trim trail through the subway.

Boing Boing Boing

We're a little excited to have a couple of bounce dates in the diary! Working with 'Bounce About Inflatable’s' on THURSDAY 4th August and THURSDAY 18th August from 11am to 4pm during the summer holidays. Join us for some outdoor fun and frolics at Hardie Park.

Wristband £5 per child for unlimited bounce

• Just turn up on the day for wristbands
• General bouncing suitable for up to 12 years
• Tiny tots area £2 all day wristband for 2-5 years / must have parent supervision

Cafe open for ice cream, coffees and snacks! Card payment taken in the cafe, cash only at the ice-cream/cold drinks hatch.

Maybe aim to cycle or walk to the park, limited parking at park gates and bays at bottom of Scratton Rd. Please remember council parking permits in place in surrounding roads.
Pay parking is also available in Stanford le hope at King Street SS17 0HL - 7 minute walk

Cycling to pastures new as the cycle hub comes to a halt...Matt Hill, our Hardie Cycle Hub Manager and local cycle campaigner, what can we say.

'Thank you for your enthusiasm, bringing your knowledge to the project and engaging a wider audience to the wonder of cycling. We are missing you already.

You supported our apprentice Ross and volunteers for over eighteen months, brought the quirky Tweed Ride and Cycle Clubs to the park for some good times.

Our Hardie Park volunteers will be happy to put the kettle on when you are next passing through. Remember to make us your no.1 Stanford-le-hope pitstop.

Community spirit all round

Ice cream all round for these superstar scouts who shifted our recently donated Foresters logs from A-B one evening, re-organising our log store ready for autumn.

After all the hard work, whilst enjoying their Rossi ice cream reward, our Trustee Chris who organised the activity with their Scout Leader told them all about the Hardie Park Café community project and the value of our PoP-Up Shop.

THANK YOU 2nd Stanford-le-hope Scouts, your time and effort was very much appreciated.

After struggling last year for wood, Foresters Tree Services have kindly agreed to keep us stocked up with logs this year. With fuel prices rocketing it will be such a help keeping our snug's wood burner going over the winter months. 

N-ice work ladies

The first cupcake workshop took place this month run by Jules Cupcake Workshops Some of our volunteers got creative too! The smiles in the photo say it all! Looking forward to the next one scheduled for Saturday 27th August. Pop over to Jules FB page to secure your spot.

Eight more Dementia Friends

A magnificent eight more Dementia Friends in the world.Thank you to Laura, Thurrock's Dementia Specialist who led the session at Hardie Park Cafe recently and a huge well done to those who chose to take part.

'Dementia Friends help people living with dementia by taking actions - both big and small.

These actions don’t have to be time-consuming. From visiting someone you know with dementia to being more patient in a shop queue, every action counts! Dementia Friends can also get involved with things like volunteering, campaigning or wearing a badge to raise awareness.'

Volunteer roles come in all shapes and sizes

We have a team of Trustee's working away in the background managing the project as a whole. The cafe setting is also a place many choose to volunteer in, however there are many other opportunities on offer including a need for a regular shopper and someone who is organised as a finance admin helper. We are also desperately in need of litter pickers to help George over the summer. If you think this might be you, please get in touch. Hours are flexible and any offer of help would be much appreciated.
