The earnest prayers of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results. James 5: 16b.
Prayers of the righteous person! Does that bring an image to mind for you? Maybe a person you know who you consider righteous? Or someone from the past who has written lovely prayers and psalms? Maybe it's even you on your really good days. Actually, it's the act of prayer that makes us righteous. I love the attached quote from Henry Nouwen. Prayer is about opening ourselves up to God for God's help, guidance, hope, healing and blessings, It's not us that have to become righteous before we pray but it is us praying that gets us to being right with God. Earnest is defined (on google!) as resulting from or showing sincere and intense conviction. When we pray the conviction that we are heard, whether we are struggling or joyful, we are become more righteous. The passage in James for today urges us to pray no matter what is going on in our lives and allow God to bring us peace, comfort, healing and understanding. It is a process, a way of life, not a one time deal. So as you go through your day, lift it all up to God and allow God to bring you what you need in the moment. Allow the act of prayer to bring you closer to the God that can make you whole. Amen.
and it will take you to our page. When it asks you to sign in just X out or say NOT NOW and you can scroll down and find the video, which should be near the top of the page. Do You Sing?
Once again the time has come to join together and sing the good news of our saviors birth. This year we will be singing ‘Have You Heard?” by Joel Raney. We are called to ask “Have you heard?” We must share the good news of salvation. The world needs to be reminded of our creator’s birth, love and grace.

Support Group Change Meetings to Thursday at 5:30 Starting Sept. 30
This personal grief support group will meet Thursdays at 5:30 starting Sept. 30 in the parlor. Alicia Hayes will be facilitating the sessions and to begin it will be a drop in format, with no prior experience needed, except the need to talk and support each others.
Hello! My name is Alicia Hayes.
I have currently moved to Pilot Point and have meet Pastor Cindy who has gracefully listened to my heart desire to start a support group.
I would like the group to be a confidential support group to where everyone can feel safe in time of need.
Everyone has a thought process of how their life should be building a puzzle and sometimes completing that puzzle then life happens, and the puzzle explodes creating missing pieces, so this group is to help us all finds ways to incur a new way of life.
Please join me.
I am very excited to meet you and there for you.
See you soon!
Youth Begin "Pray for Me" Campaign
Thank you for all the ways you serve and contribute to the life of our church! As Paul said to the Philippians, “I thank my God every time I remember you.”
I want to take a minute and tell you about another opportunity in the life of our church called the Pray For Me Campaign and invite you to join us in linking the generations of our church community together through prayer.
What is it?The Pray For Me Campaign is rooted in the truths that God uses his Word, his people, and prayer to change the world. This ministry creates a vast web of intergenerational relationships and equips adult believers to pass on a sustainable faith to the next generation.
How it works?1-2 Prayer Champions for every young person in our church!
The Pray For MeCampaign connects multiple generations within our church by having 1-2 Adult Prayer Champions commit to praying for one student or family with small children in our church.
A Prayer Champion is someone who boldly goes to the frontlines in the battle for young people’s faith.
Each Prayer Champion will be given a name, specific prayer requests, and a Prayer Guide—to use daily and pray through seven biblical essentials of growth for their young person.
Will you join us?
1. Do you have a Student (grade 6 through college) you would like to add to the list to be assigned their own Prayer Champion(s)?
2. Do you have young children (grade 5 and under) that you would like to add to the list to be assigned a family Prayer Champion(s)?
3. Do you want to become a Prayer Champion?
If any of these 3 things describe you, or you would like to find out more information, please respond by October 10, 2021
or there will be printed sign-up sheets at the church in the Narthex.
My hope is that this campaign would have a mutual impact of enriching your spiritual life as you minister to these young people. Thank you again for your continued support and service to our church family!

We will continue welcoming donations mailed to PO Box 492, Pilot Point, Tx 76258
We appreciate all of you who have tried the online donation format and hope it continues to work for some of you. We have noticed that if you want to designate to a particular fund, that is not possible through the online portal. So if you do choose that method for special giving, you will need to email us to let us know what you want the funds to be designated for and how much you are donating. Also, there is a 2.5% fee to use the online service, which means if you donate $100, the church only receives $97.50. This is the least expensive online system we could find.
