“North Carolina is changing, and not all of it is for the good.” I made that statement in 2020 when running for Secretary of State. The statement is still true, but right now we can make a change for the good and roll back Roe v Wade in North Carolina. Through lots of hard work and prayer, North Carolina may be given the responsibility to legislate the issue of life. When I was considering running for NC Senate, the fight for life is one of the top issues that compelled me to run. With our current governor, it can only happen in NC if a veto-proof majority is elected. The seat I am running for is the one that decides.
This week I was endorsed by the NC Values coalition. They are a Pro-Life, Pro-Family organization who tirelessly fight to elect conservatives and get conservative legislation passed. It is an honor and privilege to be trusted with their endorsement.
If the Federal Supreme court decides that Roe v Wade is not a right guaranteed by the constitution North Carolinian’s will get the opportunity to decide on the pro-life issue. Activist judges should not read into the Constitution what is not there. It should be up to the state's to decide their legislative stance on Roe v Wade. Texas and Oklahoma, to name a few, are standing up for the sanctity of life, I want North Carolina to join in on the fight to protect those who can’t fight for themselves, the pre-born child.
Our country is experiencing divisive times on the topic of protecting life.
In contrast to pro-life states, there are some states, 15 and counting, that want to be leaders in extending when the life of a child can be terminated. They have gone beyond the born alive bill. Just this week the Governor of Colorado signed a bill into law stating, “the right to abortion is guaranteed under state law.” The bill allows for the abortion up until the moment of birth, strips all rights away from the unborn, sending the message that this child does not matter nor exist in the eyes of the law. It is the most radical abortion law our Nation has seen.

It is important that North Carolina’s elected officials hold the values that align with the people of our great state. Know your candidate, where their values stand, that their words match their actions. Those are the people we need in office. Vote for them, share their social media pages with your network, and pray for them. With the right people we can act decisively on protecting life.
All expecting parents deserve care, compassion and resources throughout the pregnancy so that child has a deserving chance at life. Alternatives to abortion exist, those alternatives need to be available for struggling parents. Our legislature needs to work with community leaders to provide compassionate solutions to the expecting parents.
Faith and Freedom along with Human Coalition, are sponsoring an event called “North Carolina in a Post Roe America.” These two outstanding organizations are moving our thinking forward on how to be ready for the positive changes coming. If you want to learn more about the next chapter of protecting the sanctity of life in our backyard, consider coming to listen to Faith leaders, Legislators, and Influencers.

Yard Signs:
It is time to get the yard signs up around the district and in your yards! We want to flood all the major roads in Northern Wake and Granville County with yard signs, and we can't do that without your help.
We need volunteers to assemble and distribute signs around the district. Please sign up on my website, email maggie@ecfornc.com or call/text her at (415) 640-6229.
If you would like to pick up yard signs for yourself or have us drop them off, please get in touch with us.
Poll Workers:
Early voting is from April 28th – May 14th. 10% of voters don't know who they are voting for before reaching the polling site. Candidate literature at the polls plays a major role in how the voter decides to vote. We need poll workers to man the polls and distribute literature to voters. There are 3 early voting sites in Granville County and 1 in Wake County.
Volunteer for a day or a few hours as a poll worker by signing up on my website or contact maggie@ecfornc.com (415) 640-6229

Donations:
We need your financial support to contact low information voters. We will reach them through the mail, television, radio, etc. —all of which cost money. Mailing potential voters starts soon, and your financial support will help us reach more of them. Every little bit is another voter.
For $50, you can reach 33 voters through mail.
For just a few dollars, you can help restock the yard signs inventory.
Any amount counts. You can go online EC for NC or put a check in the mail. The mailing address is below.
Now is the time to give to EC for NC. Your donations will immediately be put to work.
Social Media:
I have had generous supporters host fundraisers for me over the past couple of weeks. Fundraisers are a terrific way to garner support but not the only way for you to show your appreciation.
Please continue liking, sharing and retweeting my posts on social media! It all helps to spread my message. The more people who see it, the more supporters we can gain.
