Nordic Clubs of Lithuanian Professionals | Started Cooperation

On November 16, by invitation of oldest Nordic club Lithuanian Professionals in Stockholm, representatives of four Lithuanian Professionals Clubs from Finland, Norway, Denmark and Sweden gathered together with the ambition to work out a uniting Vision and Strategy. LABA.LA | Traditional Film Industry Networking

Lithuanian American Business Association in Los Angeles in cooperation with Lithuanian World Arts Council hosted the 5th annual Lithuanian film networking event at Hollywood Hills traditionally held within the context of annual American Film Market. It was attended by well-known Lithuanian industry professionals: Lineta Mišeikytė, Jonas Špokas, Arūnas Matelis, Žilvinas Naujokas, with clear message to choose Lithuania for production of quality creations. On November, Lithuanian Professionals in Stockholm invited three experienced Big Brothers and Sisters Eglė Obcarskaitė, Leonardas Gujis ir Petras Baltusevičius to tell all the benefits of gaining by sharing your knowledge, contacts and kindness. 

The tips to effective mentor-mentee relationship include absence of prejudice and expectations, attentive listening, smart formulation of questions for mentee to have broader outlook on challenges and solutions, acceptance of individuality.

Every year, LT Big Brother is growing abroad and next season it is expanding to Berlin, Amsterdam, Dublin, and Oslo. Thanks to clubs of global professionals LEO  in Berlin, Lithuanian Professionals in Copenhagen, Lithuanian Professionals in Stockholm the program feels strong support to the idea of global mentorship.

GLL Patron | Prof. dr. Thomas Bryer

Prof. Dr. THOMAS BRYER teaches at the University of Central Florida (UCF), in Orlando. His expertise is in citizen participation, civil society development, and collaboration across government, nonprofit, private, higher education, and faith sectors to address the complex issues faced by communities. He was a Fulbright Scholar in the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities at Kaunas University of Technology (KTU) from 2015-2017, and at KTU he currently supervises a PhD student and leads a research project on non-economic factors of emigration from Lithuania, funded by the Lithuanian Research Council. In 2019, UCF and KTU launched a new, innovative dual degree program in public administration and nonprofit management, which will help strengthen the NGO sector in Lithuania through professional training, academic development, and exposure to international practices.

Dr. EDITA MIŠTINIENĖ is an international professional with over 20 years of experience in pharmaceutical industry and life sciences, on positions ranging from R&D projects manager to Chief Scientific Officer and Director at Lithuanian, Spanish, American and Israeli companies. With a group of fellow scientists, she established biotechnology company Profarma leading in creation of new generation biologic drug and new life-saving treatments. The technology is unique by its complexity and innovative approach. In 2017, it was applied to produce cosmetics, and the new LIthuanian brand Peonia appeared on the market.

Vita Scientia 2020 | January 3, 2020 | Vilnius

On January 3, 2020, Network of Lithuania-affiliated Life Scientists invite future participants and partners to the 4th international conference "Vita Scientia 2020" aiming to facilitate the cooperation and expertise exchange among global Lithuanian scientists. 

The event brings together more than 400 academic participants. It will feature new creative generation of scientists such as Dr. Daan Swarts, leading the new bio-chemistry research initiative with CRISPR-Cas, Ago proteins at Wageningen University, and Dr. Andrew Hammond, a post-doc researcher on malaria at the Imperial College London.
