This past week has been a busy one for my family with dance competitions and tennis matches. It is so fun to see my kids do well in the activities they love. Writing has been a little tricky to fit in among the chaos but I had a really great writing day on Monday and wrote the most words that I've written in a looooong time! So that felt super good.

My husband doesn't have work today and will be able to chauffeur our kids around town, so I'm looking forward to having a good writing day. I think I'm about 2/3 of the way done with this book so hopefully I'll be writing the magical words of "The End" some time soon!

And since you've been so patient as I write Nash and Kiara's book, I thought it would be fun to share an excerpt from the scene I was just revising this week.

Let me know what you think of it!

“So what’s this long story?” Nash asked, leaning forward and resting his forearms on his knees like he was interested. “How did you end up dating a college guy? Was it pretty recent?”

“It happened last summer. I was working at The Brew and this guy with dark hair kept coming in each morning,” I said, remembering the early days and how excited I was to have a cute, college guy notice me. “We chatted a little and things kind of clicked. After talking for a few days, he asked if I had a boyfriend who would be jealous if he caught us talking to each other. I told him that I’d just moved here and was single and he asked me out on a date.”

“Just like that?” Nash asked.

“Yep.” I nodded. “I was excited because he was totally the type of guy I usually went for.”

“And what’s that?”

“Umm…” I looked down at the wooden floor that could use some refinishing, trying to remember exactly what qualities I’d liked about Tristan. Then looking back to Nash with my cheeks growing warm I said, “Good looking. A little older. Had a bit of a player vibe to him. Flirty.”

“So basically nothing like me?” Nash asked.

“You’re not a player?” I arched an eyebrow.

He sat up straighter and leaned back in his chair. “I’ve tried, but nope, that player gene seemed to have only gone to Ian in my family.”

I didn’t know if I believed that since he had totally been flirty and confident when we’d spent time together during his family’s garden party.

And the way he’d forgotten about me the next day was something a player would do.

But since I still didn’t actually know Nash that well, maybe that had just been a fluke.

Eek! I can't wait to share more with you soon!

Coming this summer!

Cecily Taylor Damone thinks her life can't get any better when she moves to the city after getting a job on a daytime soap opera. Plus, there's more drama behind the scenes of her new show than what's in the script. Cecily just wants to act, be happy with Andrew, and help the charities close to her heart, but life sure is different in the glare of the spotlight with people waiting to see you fall.

Can Cecily stay grounded while in the big city?

Bookworm (buk-werm): Someone who loves books, reading, and/or studying. For reference, see Charlotte Kent.

Seventeen-year-old Charlotte Kent likes happy endings. Not that she's looking for one herself. Awkward, never been kissed, and bookish to the core, Lottie would rather read about love than experience it.

But she enjoys helping others find their HEA in books.

Lottie loves working at the library…even if it means running into Bo Stryker.

Broody, athletic, and unfairly attractive when he frowns, Bo works at the flower shop across the street. Lottie is about to get rejected…when surprisingly, Bo steps in, pretends to be her boyfriend, and steals her first kiss.

One viral video later, everyone thinks they're together.

Bo wants to keep pretending. Lottie wants to make amends—long story short: she was on a ladder; he startled her; the book slap was an accident.

A fake relationship may be the solution. But as they grow closer, Lottie can't help falling for Bo—which is a disaster because grumpy sunshine only works in fiction…right?

This book features two opposites with undeniable chemistry, one lovable librarian, so many stolen kisses and answers the question:

What happens when a nerd falls for the grump-next-door?
