Our internal NomadMania family recently got a new member. Pedro Peticov  from Brazil has joined us as a Travel Experience Manager. This is a new position for NomadMania and demonstrates our commitment to developing amazing, unique, totally 'NomadMania-esque' itineraries for you all.

Pedro has a background in event management and, while not yet a huge traveller, has been to the likes of North Korea or Syria - not bad for a supposed 'beginner'!

From now on, our dedicated team member for tours will make sure you have the best possible experience when travelling on one of our trips. Pedro will be your contact person for all  questions related to this and his outgoing, friendly nature makes him the ideal person for the job!

As we mentioned previously, you can expect many new trip proposals in the nearest time. Just keep an eye on our Events Calendar. It will be rather full in the upcoming months.

New Tour! Syria 🇸🇾 Unexplored East

We are very excited to announce a brand new tour, with expert guides, to previously inaccessible areas of Syria.

The trip starts in Damascus on October 4th and takes in areas to the east that were not open for visitors until this year. A crazy ride to sites that very few have seen - including areas under Kurdish control and much more.

This tour operates under strict safety protocols. Exact route details remain confidential; flexibility is key due to dynamic conditions.

You can see some preliminary details and apply here :-)

A Trip of "Many Firsts"

Last week a NomadMania group visited Karabakh for the third time. However, this time there were many firsts:

  • It was the first time visiting the region after it was fully (re)incorporated into the control of Azerbaijan
  • It was the first time our group consisted of participants from all 6 inhabited continents
  • It was the first time we visited Khankendi (formerly known as Stepanakert)
  • It was the first time any international travel group visited the newly formed University of Qarabag and gave a presentation there
  • It was the first time any foreign group on these tours was accommodated in Lachin
  • It was the first time that our host could join our UN Masters photo which included 8 people, as he himself recently became a UN Master after travelling to his final country, Canada.

Meeting in Kuwait

NomadMania’s first ever meeting in the Middle East was held in Kuwait on April 29th with our Founder Harry Mitsidis hosting. There were no less than 3 UN Masters present - Maryam Abdullah and Bader AlShuaib, who was just in North Korea in early April, were also there.

It was great that the women outnumbered the men 5:4, evidence that the travel spirit of Kuwaitis knows no boundaries!

The group discussed what Kuwait has to offer  travellers - much more than people imagine and certainly worth more than a couple of days - and everyone shared some of their adventures, including the record-holder of youngest climber to the 7 volcano summits!

Thanks to all who participated in this - until we meet again!

You can find other events in our Calendar too and remember to make use of the Location Sharing Feature to meet other travellers around.

New DAREs!

This week we have added the following DAREs to the NomadMania map:

📷 Little Tobago, British Virgin Islands.
