Deals, steals, and news from author Michelle Isenhoff.

Have you ever visited the coast of New England? It's gorgeousl! As a kid, I was fortunate enough to take some family vacations "out East." The images stuck with me--rocky shorelines, picturesque fishing villages, tidal pools, emerald forests, salt marshes, wheeling sea birds, and the distinctive tang of the ocean. Years later, that beauty inspired the setting of one of my first novels, The Quill Pen. And nearly a decade after that, I decided I had to set my Recompense series on the craggy Maine coast. I think the importance of that landscape is evident in the blurb below.

She’s gone. No body, no evidence, no motive. Only my guilt remains.

Opal Parnell has grown up on the rocky shores of Tidbury Bay, where winds and waves and freezing winters have carved the world into something wild and beautiful. It’s so far out of the way that strangers need a reason to come here. But beyond her safe harbor, the North American Republic has been plagued by an epidemic of disappearances. And eventually, tragedy finds Tidbury.

Plagued by guilt for the part she played in her sister's vanishing, Opal sets out to find her. Meanwhile, the crisis causes power shifts and corruption that reach into the upper echelons of government. Beneath Opal’s feet, Tidbury is changing forever.

What’s happened to the missing? Who’s covering up the truth? And will the Republic survive the upheaval?

Provocation, the prequel to my Recompense series, is only available to you, my newsletter subscribers. AND IT'S FREE. If you've never downloaded a copy, go pick one up. (You'll be asked for your email address, but you won't be added to anything new--you're already subscribed.) Book one of the series is also free. Oh, and one more thing...a huge thank you to everyone who sent me book recommendations last time!! You guys are the best. My to-be-read list is full once again, and I will slowly and happily be reading my way through it this winter. Right now, however, I'm going to snatch a few rare free hours and do some WRITING!

If you'd no longer like to receive these emails, please unsubscribe. But consider following me on BookBub or Amazon for notice of new releases. Or sign up for my own New Release List, which is only active when I release a new book—you will automatically be unsubscribed from this list.
