In the gospel song, “There Is A Name,” singer Byron Cage asks listeners, “Does anybody love the name, precious name, bless that name, Oh Jesus, there is a name!”
As we continue our quest to “get to know Jesus,” we find there are many people today who know a lot about Jesus without really knowing Him and without truly having a relationship with Him.
In John 10:14-15, Jesus described what it’s like to have a true, authentic relationship with Him. He says: “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep”.
Just as Jesus knows us intimately, if we are His sheep, we know Him as well. Every day He invites us into a mutual knowing relationship with Him through Scripture. There’s really only one way to truly know Him: and that’s through the Word of God! If we want to truly know Jesus, we have to know the Jesus of the Bible. If we don’t understand the Jesus of the Bible and the true salvation He offers, John 14:6 clearly states, we cannot be saved. It reads…”I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” In fact, John 1:14 teaches us, that Jesus is the Word made flesh, the perfect fulfillment of Scripture.
To God Be The Glory, when it comes to Jesus, the more we grow in spiritual maturity and knowledge of Him, the more our love for Him grows. We will never outgrow Jesus and our need for Him! So let us commit to seeking Jesus through the divinely inspired, perfect and infallible Word of God.

10 Ways to Help Your Child
Succeed in Middle School
Parental support plays an important part in helping students succeed in middle school. But as they grow more independent, it can be hard for parents to know when to get involved and when a more behind-the-scenes approach is the way to go.
Here are 10 ways to keep your child on track for academic success in middle school.
1. Go to Back-to-School Night and Parent-Teacher Conferences
Preteens and teens do better in school when parents are involved in their academic lives. Attending back-to-school night at the start of the school year is a great way to get to know your child's teachers and their expectations. School administrators may discuss school-wide programs and policies too.
Going to parent-teacher conferences is another way to stay informed. These may be held once or twice a year to discuss your child’s progress. Some middle schools, though, only set up parent–teacher conferences if there's a need to address issues like behavior problems or dropping grades, or if a student might benefit from advanced class work.
For kids with special learning needs, other meetings with teachers and school staff can help parents set up or revise individualized education plans (IEPs), 504 education plans, or gifted education plans.
Keep in mind that parents or guardians can request meetings with teachers, principals, school counselors, or other school staff any time during the school year.

Some health issues that can occur in the fall include:
Illnesses
The fall is the start of viral season, when the flu and common cold become more active. Other illnesses that peak in the fall include:
- Allergies, triggered by ragweed and mold spores
- COVID-19
- RSV (respiratory syncytial virus)
Some tips for staying healthy in the fall include: Getting a flu shot, Scheduling a routine wellness exam, and Understanding your family history to help prevent conditions.

FLU
Flu is a contagious respiratory illness caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat, and sometimes the lungs. It can cause mild to severe illness, and at times can lead to death.
Flu shots are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding a flu vaccination.
RSV
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common, contagious virus that usually causes mild symptoms. In older adults and adults with certain underlying conditions, RSV can cause severe infections.
RSV shots are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding a RSV vaccination.
COVID-19
Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
Most people infected with the virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. However, some will become seriously ill and require medical attention. Older people and those with underlying medical conditions like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, or cancer are more likely to develop serious illness. Anyone can get sick with COVID-19 and become seriously ill or die at any age.
The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the disease and how the virus spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by staying at least 1 metre apart from others, wearing a properly fitted mask, and washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently. Get vaccinated when it’s your turn and follow local guidance.
The virus can spread from an infected person’s mouth or nose in small liquid particles when they cough, sneeze, speak, sing or breathe. These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols. It is important to practice respiratory etiquette, for example by coughing into a flexed elbow, and to stay home and self-isolate until you recover if you feel unwell.
Both COVID vaccines and Booster COVID vaccines are available at local pharmacies. Consult your physician regarding COVID vaccinations.
