Sedona Feedback

Now that the busy season of graduation and faculty reports is over, we would like to solicit faculty feedback on Sedona. We would like to hear what worked well and what did not. We hope with your input that perhaps we can make it more user-friendly and a useful tool for everyone. We really appreciate your help as we work on improving Sedona!

Allen J. Finkelson Scholarship — July 1

The Florida Chapter of the United States Harness Racing Writers Association (USHWA) has announced that the chapter is accepting applications for its 2020 Allen J. Finkelson Scholarship Awards. The deadline is July 1.

The scholarship fund was established in memory of Hall of Famer Allen J. Finkelson, the former Vice President of Public Relations at Pompano Park and longtime Chairman of the Board of the national USHWA organization.

Preference for these scholarship awards will be given to a student majoring in journalism, communication (NSCM), or pre-veterinarian/veterinarian related studies (Biology). — please share this with your students.

NSCM Building Usage — June 15-26

The Nicholson School of Communication and Media building on main campus will be used by the police department for training. This training will be in effect from June 16 through the 26 from 2 to 8 p.m.

There will be speakers in the hallway to simulate a fire alarm or other noises. There would also be blanks fired so that officers can actually get the audible clue of where they need to respond. There is no debris or projectiles that are associated with the blanks, just the noise and small puff of smoke.
