Hope you have a great week ahead! 😊🎉

Shopping is most likely at the top of the list for most tourists when travelling. Each country, however, has its own corresponding currency which means that there are varying levels of economic status. As long as you are aware and updated on the latest exchange rates, managing the amount of money you will spend will be no hassle. In Cebu, cash is the preferred form of payment and there are a number of credible banks and money exchange centers available for all. Keep in mind that currency exchange stores offer different rates for their services. Big banks are well-known for offering higher rates than merchants at small currency exchange booths. It is best to shop around in order to find the best rates that could help you save a significant amount of money.

With this, we present to you the top currency exchange stores in Cebu. They offer reasonable foreign exchange rates, convenience, and safe transactions. These legitimate money service businesses are also registered with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).

1. It's cheaper to bring cash and just exchange it into local currency.

2. Withdrawing cash from a foreign ATM can give you better exchange deals and is also a lot more convenient.

3. Save your receipts. Carefully check your bank and credit card statements.

4. Carrying around a big stash of cash is an unsafe financial practice. Use what you need.

5. Be aware of your surroundings and avoid scams. If possible, visit exchange currency during daylight hours.

6. If someone approaches you in the street and offers to change your money into pesos at a great rate, DO NOT accept.

SMEAG has various programs available for our students. Here are the recent updates and further information of the new Speaking Master Course and IELTS Program.

Speaking Master Course at Capital Campus has finally reached its date to commence. Aiming at the students’ optimal speaking skill development, the new course will surely serve as a tool for SMEAG students to break the language barrier through diverse ways with the incorporation of TOEIC speaking. As the demand for proficiency in spoken English becomes higher, learning the skill is noticeably becoming an imperative, and helping the students meet this demand is what the Speaking Master course envisions.

Road to IELTS is an online preparation course that you can avail when you register for the IELTS official exam. This includes online resource material for all subtests of both the Academic and General Training Module. Moreover, this contains sample videos with advice from previous test takers and video tutorials that feature basic hints and rules of the IELTS test. Surely, tips and advice are supported by this course, thus apart from private study, this perk can further assist you in your IELTS preparation.

This line best describes the successful event that effectively connected our SMEAG students with Filipino families! All the participants had an amazing time swimming, riding the banana boat, playing games and getting to know each other.

This experience, however, was not all about having fun because everyone had the inspiration to learn about the stories of each family as well. With English as the only language which helped build communication between them, the students were able to make use of what they learned in class. This activity sheds light to create bonds, forming friendships and learning to share each other's struggles.

Have you heard about the famous "Lechon"? Lechon is a famous roasted pork in Cebu, Philippines! There is no denying that the Lechon in Cebu is hands-down the best and most delicious.

With this, we thought of allowing our students to take a bite of the crunchy, juicy and flavorsome local dish! SMEAG organized a Lechon Party in our school where students enjoyed the unforgettable taste of Lechon. It was indeed a joyful sight to see different nationalities gathered together to try something new! Food definitely brings people closer. Which is why SMEAG enjoys conducting these kinds of food activities for our dear students!

The Bonita Home Activity was an inspiring experience for our SMEAG students who actively participated in connecting and building friendships. They were also able to make use of their English skills to communicate with the girls in the foundation. It was all smiles for both the volunteers and girls as they learned about their stories and shared their dreams! Check out the photos that captured the smiles and moments spent during this fun-filled activity! 💖💖💖

With an extravagant expectation to experience a whole new world of English learning and fun, seventy two (72) Omani camp students set foot in the Fourth Camp of SMEAG. On the 23rd of June 2019, SMEAG Tarlac Campus commenced its first Middle Eastern English Camp. The English Enrichment Camp features Intensive English Learning Program and activities to mold students’ intrapersonal and interpersonal skills.
