Chipola Encourages Students to Complete FAFSA

Current and prospective Chipola College students should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid Application (FAFSA) as soon as possible.

Thursday, July 21, is the deadline to complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA for students planning to use Federal Financial Aid to pay for Fall classes.

Students must complete the FAFSA in order to qualify for Pell, Work Study and other Federal Financial Aid. The FAFSA takes several days to process; therefore, students are encouraged to submit all electronic forms as soon as possible.

There is still time to enroll in Summer II classes at Chipola College.

Registration for Summer II-C is open for new and current students. The semester runs six weeks, June 27 through Aug. 8.

“The Taming of The Shrew” Coming to a Community Near You!

Chipola College Theater Director Raines Carr presents the cast of Chipola Shakespeare’s “The Taming of the Shrew” which will be presented on June 16-18 in local communities. The traveling troupe will perform on June 16 at 7 p.m. at the Madison Street Park in Marianna; on June 17 at 7 p.m. at the Farmer’s Market in Chipley; and June 18 at 2 p.m. at the Carr School Pavilion in Clarksville.

Chipola Pool Now Open

The Pool will be open to Chipola students and season pass-holders from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Non pass-holders may swim from 1 to 4 p.m. daily, for an admission of $4 for ages 12 and under, and $5 for ages 13 and up.

Smith is Employee of The Month

Jeremy Smith serves as a Mail/Shipping and Receiving Clerk in the Physical Plant Administration Department and has worked at the college since 2000. Pictured from left, is: Chipola president, Dr. Sarah Clemmons and Jeremy Smith.

Chipola Social Media Scholarship Available

The Chipola College Marketing and Media Department will award TWO $1,000 Social Media Influencer scholarships for the 2022-23 school year. The scholarships may be used toward tuition and/or books in the amount of $500 for the Fall and $500 for the Spring semesters at Chipola College.

Lay and Young Win Kirkland Award

Professors Terolyn Lay and Stan Young were chosen by their peers to receive the 2022 Kirkland Award for Excellence in Teaching. The Kirkland Award was established by brothers, J.R. Kirkland and David Kirkland.

Jeff Johnson inducted into NJCAA Hall of Fame

Coach Johnson recently completed his 26th season at the helm of the Indians. Johnson's squad won the Panhandle Conference championship for the fourteenth time in his tenure and won 41 games. Following the 2022 season, Johnson is 41 wins shy of 1000 victories at Chipola.
