June heralds the start of rainy season in Japan, usually 6 weeks of more rainy days than not, humidity levels rise and everything is damp despite all efforts to keep dry. But rainy season fills up the rice patties, ensuring we have a nice harvest of grain to keep the nation fed for the rest of the year.
June's birthstone is either the pearl or moonstone. I often go with moonstone because I prefer it over pearl, what about you?
Moonstones aren't from the moon, but named due to their resemblance of the full moon on a dark starless night. They have an inner glow that shines out a wave of peace and gentle healing energy. They come in many colors: gray, white, pink, orange to name some, and are very beloved in jewelry making.
